SPECIAL OCCASIONS AT THE CHEFS’ TABLE

Is your anniversary or a birthday coming up? Celebrate your special day at The Chefs’ Table. To make your time truly special, we can customise your special occasion dining experience with us.

If you wish to preorder any of the additional extras we do require full payment upfront. We will send through banking details once you have confirmed what you would like to preorder. We do also require at least 72 hours notice in order to confirm your additional order.

A LA CARTE MENU:

Our menu changes daily due to the use of fresh and seasonal ingredients and each menu is only finalised on the day. Please see a recent A la Carte menu and a recent Dessert Menu of ours, so you can get an idea of our style of food. Bear in mind that what you see on the attached menu will differ slightly on the day of your booking.

BUNCH OF FLOWERS/ROSE PETALS:

Depending on your budget, there are additional extras that we could cater for to customise your dining experience with us, (such as rose petal and/or a bunch of flowers on the table). It is R115, for rose petals for a table for 2 guests and our signature “Chefs’ Table” bunch of flowers, range from R435 to R465. For rose petals for larger tables we can quote accordingly. Please note that a full décor and flower set up is only allowed in our Private Dining Room and needs to be organised separately by the guest themselves. Private Dining Room details can be sent through along with recommended décor companies’ contact details. We generally do not allow any décor in the main restaurant, this includes balloons.

CAKE:

If you would like to bring a cake to the restaurant for a special occasion, which you would like served in place of a dessert we charge R45 per person. We are of course delighted to discuss baking a cake for your special occasion and can get our baker to send through a quote. Our small, basic (chocolate or vanilla), one tier cake (10cm) for two starts at R530. For larger groups, we can quote accordingly.

BUBBLY:

You can also preorder some bubbly and we will have it waiting on the table.
Please see our wine list for your perusal. We recommend the Graham Beck ‘Bliss Nectar’ or Graham Beck ‘Bliss Nectar’ Rosé. Both are R535 a bottle and are sweeter options. L’Ormarins Brut Classique and L’Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé are also recommended by our sommelier, if you are looking for a slightly drier option. They are both R395 a bottle. We can organise a non-alcoholic bubbly as well. Please note that our wine list is subject to change.

PETIT FOUR PLATE MESSAGE:

We can also make a note on our system that you would like a Happy Anniversary/Birthday message on your petit four plate at the end of the evening.

At The Chefs' Table, we pride ourselves in making your special event a true celebration. Whether you are booking a table or the entire venue, you will find that our contemporary, stylish space will suit your needs and will leave a lasting impression for both you and your guests. We look forward to assisting with making your unique vision for your personal or business function come to life.

3 COURSE SET MENU* R525 per person

See sample set menu for your perusal. If you don’t wish to order from our set menu, you and your guests would be more than welcome to order from our normal a la carte menu.

We strive for freshness, seasonality and authenticity and our menu is constantly evolving and changes daily. We craft our menu around whatever our local farmers and suppliers have delivered throughout the week. Bear in mind that what you see on the sample menu will differ on the day of your booking. We would also advise that as a group you choose one of the packages, i.e. everyone has the three course or everyone orders from the a la carte menu.

PRIVATE DINING ROOM

The Private Dining Room is our most intimate and charming space and it can seat a maximum of 14 people and requires a minimum spend of R6000 (excluding gratuity). Should you spend less, the difference will be added to your final bill.

It is the perfect space for a special celebration or for a professional meeting. The room has air conditioning, a projector and screen, a sound system, power points and WiFi.

WINE LIST:

We have an award winning, extensive wine list. Our beverage team are passionate and dedicated to bringing a diverse variety and unique selection of both wine and cocktails to The Chefs’ Table. So whether it be pre-drinks at our bar or a visit to our wine cellar our mixologist and sommelier will be on hand to assist you. See wine list for your perusal. Our wine list is subject to change.

DEPOSITS:

For group bookings we require a minimum deposit of R250 per person in order to confirm the booking. Your booking will only be confirmed once we have received your payment. This payment will be deducted off the final bill.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

Should you or anyone in your party have any dietary requirements, kindly advise us in advance. We cater for most dietaries, within reason.

SERVICE CHARGE:

For large parties (8 or more guests), we may charge a discretionary 12.5% gratuity.

EXCLUSIVE HIRE:

We do offer the option of exclusively hiring out the whole restaurant. Please contact us if this is what you are looking for and we will send through all the relevant information, as we do have a minimum spend policy that will be put in place.

CANCELLATIONS:

If you are unable to honour your reservation, we kindly ask you to notify us in writing by no later than 14 days prior to your reserved time. If a cancellation is done after 14 days prior to your booking, then we will refund 50% of your deposit. If you cancel 7 days or less prior to your reserved time, your deposit will be non-refundable. We ask that you please confirm your final numbers 48 hours before your booking, as no shows will be charged for.

The Private Dining Room at The Chefs' Table offers a unique and customisable experience and is a refined setting to enjoy Chef Matt’s contemporary cuisine. It is our most intimate and charming space, well suited for parties as small as 6 and as large as 14 guests for a seated lunch or dinner.

We offer a luxurious menu and our sommelier will be on hand to assist with any wine choices.

Whether you are planning a three-course luncheon or an elaborate dinner, our team will be delighted to create a special experience for you and your guests.
