WITH GLENELLY ESTATE

FOOD & WINE PAIRING DINNER WITH GLENELLY ESTATE

Join us for an evening devoted to exceptional pairings, showcasing the artistry of winemaking from Glenelly Estate alongside a menu curated by Executive Chef Mathew Armbruster and Sommelier Karl Rohlandt. Dirk van Zyl, the Cellar Master and Winemaker will be with us to celebrate the wines from this historic estate.

In 2003, May de Lencquesaing, then owner of the famous Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, a Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac, Bordeaux, purchased the estate. With a nod to the French Huguenot settlers 300 years before, she set about planting vines to replace the existing fruit trees, realising her vision of establishing a thriving winery that best utilises the soils and microclimate of the valley and supports local economic development and the community. And thus Glenelly Estate was reborn.

The 1783 stamp on the Glenelly wine labels signifies nearly 250 years of the family’s involvement in the wine industry which continues into the 21st century at Glenelly. Their ancestor, Elie Miailhe, was granted the title of ‘royal wine broker’ in 1783. May de Lencquesaing (née Miailhe), continues this tradition together with her grandchildren.

This May,  Glenelly will release the 2020 vintage of the Lady May, on May’s 100th Birthday.

Indulge in a five-course experience, where each course pairs with a wine from this world-class estate, producing award-winning wines with power, elegance and balance.

Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to delve into the French heritage of this famous wine estate on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain.

Bookings are essential. Please phone 031 001 0200 or email reception@thechefstable.co.za to book, as this is an evening you don't want to miss.

Menu is subject to change.
