CHEFS' CLUB SUNDAY
Our Chefs' Club Sunday series ends off with a bang in September, when we invite Constantijn Hahndiek to cook at The Chefs' Table.
Cape Town born Tijn is one of the new generations of chefs who focus on using fresh, local and sustainable ingredients, combined with classical techniques which he learned while travelling abroad to the UK, France and Spain. His cooking has already been heralded by Eat Out, when Hartford House was named in the Top 20 restaurants in South Africa for a second year running. Tijn has made his name serving some of the most innovative, elegant and fun food in KZN.
Tijn left Hartford House in February, and has been enjoying some time off, away from the kitchen. "I am constantly learning and experimenting. It's not about finding a recipe and sticking to it, but rather about continually evolving and changing things up. We just need to remember that ingredients are key and so to try and source our ingredients locally wherever possible is what will make the difference. We only get one chance at this life but if we do it right, once is enough!"

THE CHEFS' CLUB SUNDAY SERIES
Hosted by The Chefs' Table, Umhlanga, the Chefs' Club Sunday series is a way to showcase some of the most talented chefs in Durban as well as South Africa. Each lunch will feature a different chef that we highly respect and think is doing incredible things. The menu will be a collaboration between Chef Kayla and the guest chef, and will offer an opportunity to taste and experience local produce in a new and interesting light.
The Chefs' Club Sunday series gives our diners a chance to see and experience what's going on by bringing some of the country's best chefs right here to Umhlanga.
