We welcome winemaker Niel Bester to The Chefs' Table where he will be delighted to share the wines of Plaisir de Merle with you on this special evening. Join Niel for this rare opportunity as he guides us on an exploration of the estate's immense history alongside his textured, elegant and discerningly delicious, classic wines, which will be complemented by a four-course menu created by Head Chef Kayla-Ann Osborn.
Established by the French Huguenots in 1693 on the slopes of the dramatic Simonsberg Mountain between Paarl and Franschhoek, Plaisir de Merle is a rare gem. The enormous 974-hectare estate in Simondium has respectably earned international acclaim for its premium white and red wines. Winemaker Niel Bester, attributes the success of his wines to being able to work with great fruit coming from a very unique terrain and the invaluable input from his viticulture team.
